Residential & Commercial Hot Water Heaters

Water Heaters Masters Diamond Certified technicians perform hot water heater replacement and repair services for residential and commercial customers, including apartments and condominiums. These plumbing services are provided for standard (conventional), electric heat pump, condensing, power-vent, on-demand and tankless water heaters. We use high quality contractor grade water heaters approved for use in California. We prefer contractor grade brands from Bradford Whit, A.O. Smith and Noritz, because they are more durable vs. the water heaters commonly sold at big box stores. In addition, the warranty is not prorated like the box store models.

Re-circulation Pumps and Timers Available

All water heater types (standard, tankless, condensing and heat pump) can be installed with a timer, a re-circulation pump, or both. Some find this useful in areas that are in climatically cold regions. These features are also widely used by persons wanting to save water or in areas that are facing severe drought conditions.

Energy Efficiency of Water Heaters

Efficiency is a measure of heat transfer from the energy source to your water. The closer you are to 1 the better the energy savings. The efficiency for conventional tanks can decline over time as sediment builds up in the unit, while some high efficiency water heaters (tankless water heaters, gas condensing water heaters and electric heat pump water heaters) maintain their efficiency.

New NAECA Energy Factor standards effective 16APR2015

Effective April 2015, NAECA established higher energy standards for residential water heaters. In addition to the higher energy factor ratings, the new NAECA rules impact the water heaters in several ways. Both gas and electric water heaters may require additional insulation, incorporate newer flue baffling including dampers, electronic ignition or any combination of these. Electrical work may also be required.

Water Heater Earthquake Safety

Seismic Gas Shutoff Valve

During an earthquake, vibrations trigger the seismic gas shutoff to cut main gas supply to the house. This helps reduce the risk of explosion or fire caused by a broken gas line.

Water Heater Earthquake Bracing

Water Heater earthquake bracing is an inexpensive way of protecting your family and home. A 50 gallon water heater weighs over 500 pounds. During an earthquake, if not properly braced, the water heater can fall over and break the gas line it is connected to, causing an explosion or fire. No matter what the situation or location, there is a safe way to brace a waterheater; to meet California Code.

Properly Braced Water Heater

This is an image of a properly braced water heater. It meets current California Code for earthquake safety.

Water Heater with proper Earthquake Bracing

Water Heater Without Earthquake Bracing

This is an image of a water heater in Rio Vista that lacks earthquake bracing. This water heater pulled away from the wall during the Napa Earthquake. It was barely being held up by the water and gas flex lines.  If these flex lines snapped before we could repair the water heater, it could have potentially caused severe water damage or a fire.
